About
Colorado Homeless Families serves the entire family for approximately 18 months to 2 years, (some families need more time, due to educational requirements or health problems) with case management, counseling, educational seminars, support group meetings, summer youth program and access to the food/clothing/furniture bank. Our goal is to rescue children and families from poverty and equip them with the tools they need to become better parents, and contributing members of society, as well as to become self-sufficient. While in the CHF program, families are able to develop a stable home environment for themselves and their children. The head of households are required to have short and long-term goals, demonstrate initiative to improve their financial and social situations as well as be willing to attend college or be working at a position which will provide sufficient income within the length of the program. Since the inception of CHF in 1987 through September of 2015, CHF has provided 491 families with safe/affordable housing, 418 families have successfully graduated to self-sufficiency; 158 of those families have purchased their own homes while the other 260 families moved to market rate rentals. Of the CHF graduates; 107 individuals graduated from colleges, universities, or trade schools.
