Arvada Young Professionals

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM) (MST)

Description

The theme of this meeting is Neurodivergence.  Sarah Stemer will be education us on how to spot habits that people who are autistic or ADHD have, with the goal of working with and respecting those differences. For context, one example is that neurodivergent people tend to not have the same eye contact habits, which can be interpreted as rude or uninterested, but it actually means they are focused and engaged. Sarah will also address the benefits of working with neurodivergent folks, even if they might present as different, and how their unique way of tackling issues can be beneficial to companies and teams.

Sarah Stemer, Esq. is an intellectual property attorney and the founder of Stemer, PA, specializing in trademarks, copyrights and federal litigation. After being diagnosed with ADHD well into adulthood, she has studied the impact of neurodivergence in social settings and in the workplace. In her free time, she enjoys photography, hiking, gardening and yoga.
