Director of Communications and Public Relations
At Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation (RMCHF) our mission is simple: to improve the quality of life for families, sick children and infants throughout our communities by providing support when and how they need it most. We are actively seeking a Director of Communications and Public Relations (DOCPR) to join our Senior Leadership Team.
The DOCPR is responsible for the development of RMCHF and Mothers’ Milk Bank (MMB) communication strategy and will contribute to the organizational strategic planning process. The DOCPR will directly manage communications that promote, enhance and protect the organization's brand reputation.
She/He is responsible for the development, integration and implementation of a broad range of public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. This individual will be an ambassador with a goal to advance the organization's position with relevant constituents, as well as to drive broader awareness and support for the organization.
The DOCPR creates strategic connections, alliances, and integration within MMB, programs, and development objective areas and in the community in the form of strategic partnerships that leverage influence, investment, or impact.
Communications/ Sales & Marketing:
Responsible for the mission and overall business objectives, with particular focus on the development, protection and promotion of a powerful brand and superior reputation with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and lead the strategy for all communications, website, marketing; digital and print, public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate RMCHF’s mission. Responsible for public relations and communication to both internal audiences and external communities.
Develop and implement communication, public relations, print and digital marketing and social media plans.
Evaluate and advocate on behalf of the RMCHF brand with internal colleagues, external stakeholders and the media across all communications channels and vehicles.
Lead the development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters and publications, brochures, website, community reports etc.
Oversee website administration and coordination to ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories and events) is posted regularly. Track and measure the level of engagement within the network over time. Lead the administration of all SEO/SEM activities.
Develop/oversee relationships with media and other organizations that can provide earned media and PR opportunities to RMCHF and MMB and other key programs. Oversee and/or create press releases, community columns, Op Eds, advertising, promotional videos, etc., as appropriate and coordinates all media inquiries and coverage.
Develop and maintain press materials, FAQs, boilerplates, graphic and brand standards as applicable.
Collaborate and implement PR and outreach activities, plans, materials and support for our four major areas including: Mothers’ Milk Bank, Best Start Program, Patient and Family Assistance, Stink Bug Project and other key programs as applicable.
Direct strategies to prospect, cultivate and solicit hospital, physicians and other health providers to partner with MMB as purchasing hospitals, donation and outreach centers, referring providers etc. to meet business objectives.
Direct strategies for attendance, vending, tabling and presenting at professional conferences and community events.
Ensure goals for in-kind and third-party events and activities are met through collaboration with director of programs, director of development and director of outreach.
Implement a comprehensive marketing and promotional plan that includes creative multi-media tools to engage and inspire donors and participants to optimize resources targeting fund development.
Liaising with director of development in stewardship of existing donors and cultivation of prospective donors planned & annual giving.
Direct the planning and design initiatives such as direct mail, corporate requests, major gifts and donor recognition in collaboration with development team.
Collaborate with development staff to ensure web-based programming and e-philanthropy concepts are incorporated into the organization’s activities.
Support development in researching, preparing and submitting select grant proposals and reports.
