Bilingual Intake Therapist - Master's Level

Jefferson Center is seeking a talented clinician to provide outreach, screenings and initial assessment services primarily to the Latinx community in Spanish and English. Clinician will work within the Centro Dones de Nuestra Comunidad Team to provide services and programming that meets the needs of an underserved community.  This position will receive clinical supervision hours towards licensure.
*Please note this is a grant funded position with an anticipated start date of 10/8/2022*
Essential Duties:
  • Performs clinical assessments on Latinx clients, completing all elements of the standard Jefferson Center intake assessment, including SBIRT, Mental Status Exam, DSM V diagnosis and ASAM Criteria (SUD Only).
  • Involves family members and representatives from other agencies in the evaluation Process, as appropriate.
  • Determines eligibility for services based on presenting issues, diagnostic formulation, ASAM Criteria and established payor-source guidelines.
  • Schedules follow-up clinician, group and MD appointments as appropriate according to Jefferson Center practices.
  • Consults with Emergency team when consumer presents with high lethality or other emergent concerns.
  • Reports high risk/problem cases, and utilizes a problem solving, team approach as well as feedback. 
  • Adheres to all Jefferson Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate professional standards and provides timely, appropriate follow-up.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others
  • Initiate and maintain positive interactions with others including timely response to phone calls, email and other requests
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with community resource provider agencies
  • Provide leadership in attending to the needs of un- and under-served communities through service excellence and by providing consultation, training and support to other Jefferson Center teams/colleagues

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Conferred Master’s Degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology or related field required. Degree must be from an accredited University/College. 
  • Must be fluidly bilingual in Spanish and English with language skill sufficient to effectively perform screenings and initial assessments (intakes) in Spanish. Language and communication proficiency testing required.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse people and with under-served communities
  • Experience working with all ages (children, adolescents, young adults, adults and older adults) who present with wide ranging issues
  • Possess awareness of the relationship between social indicators (such as immigration history, racism, access barriers, poverty, residency status, etc.) and biopsychosocial functioning
  • Possess working understanding of the impact of trauma on people’s lives and functioning and possess facility with trauma-sensitive/trauma-informed approaches
  • Effective in multi-agency, multi-disciplinary and collaborative service environments
  • Experience with community presentations and public speaking to engage the Spanish speaking community
Grade 51-Master’s Unlicensed Clinician
  • $46,400 to $58,900**
  • *Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
  • *Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

**BONUS OPPORTUNITY!! Three phase bonus paid out using the following schedule. ** Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Must work a minimum of 20 hours/week to be eligible for bonus.
