RRCC is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide leadership, support and direction for the Water Quality Management Program (WQM). The WQM director provides direction and support to the WQM program through outreach, relationship building and student recruitment. The director builds relationships with workforce partners and students to provide mentorship and career advice within the industry. Description of Position Leadership and Management: Provide leadership for program instructional faculty and sustained excellence of the WQM program. Collaboratively implements programs, policies, services, and procedures to enhance the educational and operational efficiency meeting the performance goals and CTE requirements for the Water Quality Management Technology (WQM) department Manage administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the WQM department. Plan and implement an annual calendar of events including funding initiatives, special events, recruiting, community engagement, and other administrative tasks. Analyze WQM enrollment data and industry trends to suggest new WQM initiatives and strategic plan implementation. Provides leadership and support implementation that strives to attain student equity, social justice, diversity, and inclusion. Strategic Planning: Create a marketing plan for the recruitment and retention of students in concurrent enrollment, the AAS, the BAS and the non-credit pathways. Facilitates the development of strategic plans for the program aligned with college strategic plans and manages relevant and appropriate activities resulting from the goals of that strategic planning. Compiles materials and analyzes data regarding enrollment, student success, retention, completion, graduation, and transfer for annual reports as needed. Assist with programmatic efforts related to course and program assessment and ILearn. Apply for grant funding and manage the grant funds in an effort to expand WQM program initiatives. Internal and External partnerships: Maintain ongoing communication with administration and faculty regarding WQM events and opportunities and enrollment trends in WQM courses and degree programs. Participate in department, divisional and college-wide professional development activities and committees. Schedules, plans, and provides leadership for Advisory Board; consults with members concerning policy revisions, workforce needs, community partnerships and emerging trends within the WQM Program and the industry. Conduct research to determine the viability of programming and identify potential partners for hosting off-campus programming. Teaching and Advising: Teaches courses in the WQM program as needed, including supporting student capstone projects and internships. Coordinate and promote industry networking opportunities for students such as a speaker series, career fairs, and/or internships. Advise potential and current students on their chosen degree pathway to ensure degree completion and connect students to campus support services. Advises and monitors students in person, writing, e-mail, and by phone. Fiscal Management: Develop and Administer program budget in collaboration with the Dean and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Justify and effectively manage all appropriate operating budget categories including scholarships, acquisitions, maintenance and inventory of capital. Lead, administer and oversee grants.
