Description
Lauren Simpson, Mayor
Lauren Simpson was elected to serve a 4-year term as Mayor in the 2023 election (previously serving from 2019 to 2023 as the District 2 Councilmember). Mayor Simpson is committed to working on issues for which she campaigned: fighting for affordable housing options, promoting local Arvada businesses and workers, and protecting our shared public spaces while “place-making” new ones for residents and visitors to enjoy. Lauren also seeks to be a voice for Arvada’s families and an advocate for her constituents in need.
In addition to her duties as Mayor, Lauren has taken on several other roles to help the local community — from board service to youth mentorship. She is an active member of the Arvada Kiwanis Club, Elks Lodge 2278 and the Arvada Chamber; serves on the Board of Directors for the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority and the Arvada Visitor’s Center; and acts as the City's representative to the Metro Mayors Caucus. She also had the honor to serve as Vice Chair of the once-in-a-decade Arvada City Charter Review Committee in 2021.
