Our inaugural Candid Conversation Lecture Series will feature three topics, hosted by medical experts within SCL Health and Lutheran Medical Center, where you’ll learn about the hormones in your body, what happens when they become out of balance, and what you can do to help eliminate symptoms you’re experiencing due to hormonal imbalance. Event is $15 per person which includes dinner prior to the program. 1. Hormones 101: What Women Need to Know Hormones are responsible for a huge range of bodily functions from sleep to reproduction. When hormones are in balance, life is good. When they are out of balance, life is, well, less than ideal. Hormone imbalance can happen at any age and can ultimately lead to more serious issues. We’ll discuss the dominant hormones that can wreak havoc on our bodies in this crash course. 2. Not Your Mother’s Menopause: Making Hormones Make Sense Hot flashes. Night sweats. Mood Swings. Weight gain. The symptoms of menopause don’t change from decade to decade but the treatments available do.
