"Unlocking Potential in Overlooked Talent Pools" is a deep dive series designed to explore innovative hiring practices that tap into underutilized talent sources. This three-session series will provide valuable insights for businesses looking to address talent shortages and create more inclusive workplaces.

Session 1: Neurodiversity in the Workplace (March 11th)

This session will focus on neurodiversity and its impact on hiring practices. Tiffany Feingold from the Colorado Neurodivergent Chamber of Commerce will lead the discussion, covering:

  • The definition of neurodivergence and its prevalence in the population
  • How traditional hiring processes can unintentionally exclude neurodivergent candidates
  • Strategies for creating more inclusive hiring practices that leverage neurodivergent talents

Session 2: The Power of Second Chance Hiring (March 12th)

Harris Rollinger, Sr. Program Manager for Hidden Talent at KeHE Distributors, will share expertise on second chance hiring. Key topics include:

  • The business case for second chance hiring, including employee retention and loyalty statistics
  • Tax incentives available for businesses engaging in second-chance hiring
  • The broader societal impact of providing employment opportunities to individuals with criminal records

Session 3: Panel Discussion on Inclusive Hiring Practices (March 13th)

The series concludes with a panel discussion featuring organizations leading the way in inclusive hiring:

  • CrossPurpose
  • Jack's & Steamers
  • APEX Parks and Recreation
  • Mirror Image Arts

These industry leaders will share their experiences, best practices, and the challenges they've overcome in implementing innovative hiring strategies.
