Description
Join us in-person or virtually to celebrate the grand opening of the Beyond Home Playground. If you are not able to join us in person, please tune in to the Arvada Chamber Facebook Page at 4:10pm to celebrate with us virtually!
BeyondHome was recently awarded a $250,000 grant funding by The Colorado Health Foundation to support the renovation and upgrade of the current playground to make it more inclusive for all abilities. In addition, two play areas were added to the neighborhood. Typically, more than 110 children and youth will grow in areas of education, future careers, and daily life. With the help of the new play facilities, this new playground will help our kiddos build strong, healthy muscles through functional exercise in the form of play. BeyondHome is in alignment with the Colorado Health Foundation vision that across Colorado, each of us can live healthy lives.
In celebration of the new playground, BeyondHome will also be hosting a Fall Festival for the nearly 40 families who participate in the Self-Sufficiency Program on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Community members will be on hand to celebrate with the kiddos with pumpkin decoration, games, food and “trunk or treat”. BeyondHome has 40 housing units in Jefferson County that provide transitional housing for families exiting or at risk of homelessness. At BeyondHome, families are provided a roadmap to self-sufficiency. Residents pay 30% of their income in rent ($475 minimum). With the personalized case management and supportive services, BeyondHome is more than transitional housing, it is “transformational”.
